MARISSA MINTER 

My skills in writing, designing, social media and event planning make me an ideal candidate for a career in public relations.

 

I have found that the ability to write and write well is crucial in communicating with the public and establishing credibility. I have had the opportunity to write for various publications including Baylor University's Center for International Education magazine and the annual publication for the Department of Journalism at Baylor.

 

I have learned that visuals are an increasingly important form of communicating in today's society. I love to design, and I have created flyers and visuals for Baylor University's chapter for the Public Relations Student Society of America. Also, while interning at Education Service Center Region 12 in Waco, Texas, I have had the opportunity to create numerous flyers, programs and other visuals. I have also completed a course in photography and have enjoyed taking pictures at events during various internships. 

 

I am proficient in social media and have used Twitter and Facebook in many different internships and jobs. I enjoy planning events and I have had the opportunity to organize retreats and social events in various organizations. 

 

What draws me most to the field of public relations is the fact that I get to work with so many different people. In my opinion, people and relationships come before anything else in my life. At the end of the day, when the event is over or the campaign is finished, it is the people who matter most!
